How to stop Volvo brake knock

2009-2010 Volvo XC60 and XC90 vehicles equipped with 17-inch front brakes may experience a knocking noise when turning and braking at low speeds.

If the noise is confirmed to be coming from the front brakes, clean the brake pad mounting surfaces on the brake caliper and brake caliper bracket, and apply silicone grease.
