NASTF alternative slate positions open

USA-resident members of NASTF are eligible to submit an Alternate Slate of candidates for nomination against the slate of candidates nominated by the 2017 Nominating Committee and approved by the NASTF Board of Directors.

USA-resident members of NASTF are eligible to submit an Alternate Slate of candidates for nomination to stand against the slate of candidates placed in nomination by the 2017 Nominating Committee and approved by the NASTF Board of Directors.

An Alternate Slate must be endorsed by at least 25 current NASTF Members.

Five Director seats are open for nomination with re-election permitted for Directors with expiring terms. Director terms are for three years.

Officers, including Chair, Vice Chair and Treasurer/Secretary, are also open for nomination. Officer terms are for one year only.

To be eligible for nomination, Directors must have been a registered supporter of NASTF for at least two years AND have been an active NASTF committee member for at least one year. Also, eligible Directors must represent the business-type category of the seat available. For 2017, seats open for election include one each for the following categories: OEM (or OEM At-Large), Parts Supplier, Independent tech/shop owner, Locksmith and At-Large.

Officer nominations must have served on the Board of Directors in the previous year and must be serving a current term at least through 12/31/2017.

To submit an alternate slate, you must list five qualified candidates (which may include one or more of the nominations made by the Nominating Committee) with their contact information and a list of at least 25 fellow NASTF member names (with email addresses) who endorse your alternate slate. Email your slate to [email protected] no later than midnight Eastern time, Nov. 6, 2016. Please read the NASTF Bylaws in advance of assembling your alternate slate to be sure that your slate will comply with the balance and qualifications for Directors and Officers.

  • OEM for 2017 At-large Category: Mark Saxonberg, Toyota Motor Sales USA
  • Parts Supplier Category: Bill Long, Auto Aftermarket Suppliers Assoc.
  • Independent Tech/Shop Owner Category: Donny Seyfer, Seyfer Automotive
  • Locksmith Category: Claude Hensley, Lockman Locksmiths of Florida
  • At-Large Category: Aaron Lowe, Auto Care

For OFFICER Terms expiring 12/31/2017

  • Chair - Mark Saxonberg, Toyota Motor Sales USA
  • Vice Chair - Steve Douglas, Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers
  • Treasurer/Secretary - John Lypen, Motor Information Services

The Nominating Committee's slate of candidates together with all other Alternate Slates, if any, will be presented to NASTF voting members for vote on Nov. 7, 2016 with a voting deadline of midnight (eastern time) Dec. 6, 2016.


Voting eligibility
NASTF supporters residing in the USA and registered on November 7, 2016 in the NASTF supporter database at www.nastf.org. Person in receipt of this email and voting with this email of record is the eligible voter. Only one vote per email address will be counted. Multiple votes by one email will not be counted.

Looking ahead, nominations for 2018 directors and officers should be submitted before July 31, 2017. Directors must have been a registered supporter of NASTF for at least two years AND have been an active NASTF committee member for at least one year. Officer nominations must have served on the 2017 Board of Directors.
