University of the Aftermarket to present Aftermarket 101 for new employees

The University of the Aftermarket will present its annual “Aftermarket 101” program at Federal-Mogul headquarters in Southfield, Mich., June 10-11, 2014.

The University of the Aftermarket will present its annual “Aftermarket 101” program at Federal-Mogul headquarters in Southfield, Mich., June 10-11, 2014.

The program is specifically created for new employees in the automotive or heavy-duty aftermarket and will provide a better understanding of the industry, its structure and trends.

This annual program is offered in partnership with the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association. Typical attendees have less than one year in the industry and represent a diverse range of job functions and companies. During the day-and-a-half program, participants will be exposed to key information about the aftermarket, its history, scope, market channels, customers and trends.

Specific subjects include:

•           Industry Basics, Channels and Terminology             

•           History of the Aftermarket     

•           Current State of the Aftermarket       

•           The Global Aftermarket                     

•           Distribution: Structure and Trends                 

•           Service Dealer Challenges and Opportunities          

•           Macro Trends: The Big Picture                                 

•           Field Trip to Visit a Traditional WD and Store

•           Networking Opportunities

Registration is $650 for both days and includes lunch and all materials. Participants will receive 1.2 credits toward completion of their Automotive Aftermarket Professional (AAP) or Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designations.
