The New York International Auto Show features some wonderful vehicles but some of them are a sight for sore eyes. The Globe and Mail took a look at the ugliest looking cars from the 2022 event. The first five are featured below. To see the rest, click here.

    1991 Mercedes-Benz 300TE wagon

This 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300TE features new paint, guniwheels and the suspension lowered, which cost nearly twice as much as the vehicle (about $6,000 for parts and labor), according to the Globe and Mail.

    Toyota Rhombus

This vehicle from Toyota is a zero-emission, battery-powered concept vehicle. According to the Globe and Mail, it is "designed to showcase the future of mobility". Its features include a swivel front seat. Inside, all switches are touch sensitive. Outside cameras are used instead of side-view mirrors.

    Jeep Grand Wagoneer L

Designed to compete against the Cadillac Escalade ESV, the Lincoln Navigator L, and the Chevrolet Suburban, the new 2023 Wagoneer L and Grand Wagoneer L are 30.5 centimeters longer than the standard-wheelbase models, the company says. Because of the vehicle's unusual length, the design is seen as bulky and difficult to navigate.

    Rolls-Royce Cullinan

The Rolls-Royce Cullinan costs over $40,000. The interior contains plush leather upholstery, real wood and Rolls-Royce champagne flutes, along with a cooler and whiskey decanter housed in the center console, according to Globe and Mail. However, the exterior presents a gigantic monstrosity of a vehicle covered in dull paint.

    Volkswagen Beetle

Known as one of the world's most historic pieces of equipment to drive, the German automaker halted production in 2019 with more than 23 million Beetles sold in 91 countries, the company says. This original Beetle comes with a gold exterior that's not one of the most esthetic pleasing colors in the universe.
