Every day, millions of people across South Florida depend on their vehicles to get to work, transport their families, support local businesses, and keep one of the nation's most dynamic regional economies moving.
But when a vehicle breaks down, that mobility can disappear instantly.
A dead battery on I-95 during rush hour. A flat tire on the Sawgrass Expressway. An overheating vehicle on a summer afternoon in Miami. A stranded tourist unfamiliar with the area. A rideshare driver losing income while waiting hours for assistance.
For many drivers, vehicle breakdowns remain one of the most frustrating and stressful experiences of modern life.
A new South Florida startup believes there is a better way.
Mechanic Assistance, a technology platform connecting drivers directly with technicians, will officially launch in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in July 2026. The company was founded with a mission to improve roadside response, increase driver safety, and create new economic opportunities for ASE Certified Technicians and repair shops.
The decision to launch first in South Florida was not driven by market research alone.
It was personal.
Mechanic Assistance was founded by Diego Mazza and Juan Pablo Ambrosini, both longtime South Florida residents who have experienced firsthand the challenges drivers face when vehicle problems occur.
The concept emerged more than two years ago when Ambrosini, who operates a car rental business, repeatedly encountered difficulties coordinating maintenance, repairs, and roadside assistance for vehicles across the region.
Those experiences revealed a broader challenge affecting millions of drivers: when a vehicle becomes disabled, obtaining fast, transparent, and reliable assistance is often far more difficult than it should be.
Mazza immediately recognized the opportunity.
Having spent years building and scaling technology companies across Argentina, Mexico, and the United States, he saw an industry that had not fully benefited from the digital transformation reshaping nearly every other consumer service.
“Consumers can track a rideshare driver, a food delivery order, or a package in real time. Yet when a vehicle breaks down, many drivers are still left with uncertainty, limited communication, and little visibility into when help will arrive.”
Together, they set out to build a platform capable of modernizing the roadside assistance experience.
WHY MIAMI-DADE AND BROWARD?
South Florida is uniquely positioned to become the proving ground for a new generation of roadside assistance and mobile automotive service.
Combined, Miami-Dade and Broward Counties are home to more than 4.7 million residents, making the region one of the largest metropolitan markets in the United States.
The area welcomes tens of millions of visitors annually, hosts two major international airports, one of the world's busiest cruise industries, and supports a transportation network that depends heavily on personal vehicles.
Unlike many dense urban markets with extensive public transit systems, much of South Florida remains highly car-dependent. Millions of daily trips occur across highways including I-95, Florida's Turnpike, the Palmetto Expressway, and the Sawgrass Expressway.
That creates enormous demand for reliable roadside support.
The region's climate creates additional challenges.
Year-round heat, humidity, heavy rain, and intense sun exposure place significant stress on vehicle batteries, cooling systems, tires, and electronic components. Automotive service professionals throughout South Florida regularly see higher rates of battery failure and heat-related vehicle issues than many other parts of the country.
For drivers, the consequences can be significant.
A disabled vehicle can create safety concerns, traffic congestion, lost productivity, missed appointments, and major frustration. For commercial fleets, rideshare drivers, delivery drivers, and small businesses, every hour of downtime can represent lost revenue.
Mechanic Assistance believes technology can help address these challenges.
BUILDING A BETTER ROADSIDE EXPERIENCE
The company's platform is designed to connect drivers with ASE Certified Technicians and service providers capable of delivering assistance where it is needed most.
Rather than focusing exclusively on towing, the platform seeks to connect customers with professionals who may be able to diagnose or resolve issues directly on-site.
Services available through the platform may include emergency roadside assistance, battery replacement, diagnostics, brake service, tire-related support, vehicle inspections, mobile maintenance services, and general automotive repairs.
The company's primary focus remains roadside response and helping stranded drivers regain control during vehicle emergencies.
CREATING OPPORTUNITY FOR MECHANICS
Mechanic Assistance was built not only for drivers, but also for the technicians and repair professionals who keep vehicles on the road.
South Florida is home to thousands of independent technicians, mobile service providers, and repair businesses.
Many possess the expertise to solve customer problems but lack efficient tools to acquire new customers, fill schedule gaps, and participate in the growing market for on-demand service.
The platform aims to change that.
Technicians can use Mechanic Assistance to generate additional revenue, expand their customer base, increase utilization of existing resources, and build recurring relationships with drivers.
Repair shops can extend their reach beyond traditional brick-and-mortar locations and participate in a marketplace increasingly shaped by convenience and mobile access.
A SOUTH FLORIDA SOLUTION WITH NATIONAL AMBITIONS
While Miami-Dade and Broward Counties represent the company's first market, the founders view South Florida as the beginning of a much larger vision.
The region's size, diversity, traffic density, tourism economy, and vehicle dependency make it an ideal environment to test and refine a platform designed to improve roadside assistance and mobile automotive service.
For Mazza and Ambrosini, however, the decision to launch in South Florida goes beyond market opportunity.
This is the community where the idea originated.
It is where the founders experienced the problem firsthand.
And it is where they hope to demonstrate that drivers deserve a faster, safer, and more transparent roadside assistance experience.
The model developed and refined in South Florida will eventually serve drivers and technicians across the country.
But first, it starts at home.
Mechanic Assistance will officially launch in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties in July 2026.
