Key Highlights

  • Ford is recalling certain 2026 Explorer and Mustang models due to potential engine piston clip misinstallation, which could lead to engine failure and increased crash risk.
  • Volkswagen is addressing a programming error in the sunroof control unit of 2026 Audi Q3 vehicles, which may cause the sunroof to fail to close properly, risking occupant injury.
  • GM's recall of 2023-2025 Chevrolet Malibu models involves rearview camera seal issues that could impair rear visibility and increase crash risk during reversing maneuvers.
  • GM is also updating software in 2025-2026 Chevrolet Corvette models to ensure rear turn-signal alerts function correctly, reducing the risk of accidents caused by unnoticed signal failures.
  • Hyundai is inspecting and reinforcing seat belt anchors in certain Genesis G90, Hyundai IONIQ 6, and Santa Fe models to prevent seat belt failure and protect occupants during crashes.

Ford Motor Company

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2026 Explorer and Mustang vehicles equipped with 2.3L engines. One or more of the clips that retain the engine's pistons to their connecting rods may be mis-installed or missing due to a misalignment of assembly plant equipment. A mis-installed clip may lead to piston failure and engine damage, resulting in a loss of motive power and increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will inspect the engine for evidence of mis-installed or missing circlips and, if evidence is found, replace the engine's long block at no cost to owners under NHTSA Campaign ID 26V205.

Volkswagen Group of America

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain 2026 Audi Q3 vehicles. The target data container for the sunroof control unit was programmed incorrectly, which may cause the sunroof closing function to fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 118. A sunroof closure operation that does not meet these regulatory requirements may create an increased risk of occupant injury. Dealers will install a new target data container software on the sunroof control unit and provide an owner's manual supplement at no cost to owners under NHTSA Campaign ID 26V209.

General Motors

General Motors is recalling certain 2023 to 2025 Chevrolet Malibu vehicles. An issue with the bonding process used to assemble the rearview camera housing may allow moisture to breach the seal, causing the camera screen to display a distorted or blank image. If the rearview camera is not functioning properly, rear visibility is reduced, increasing the risk of a crash during a backing event. Dealers will replace the rearview camera at no cost to owners under NHTSA Campaign ID 26V212.

General Motors

General Motors is recalling certain 2025 to 2026 Chevrolet Corvette vehicles. A software change intended to assist technicians with tire pressure monitor system (TPMS) learning inadvertently prevented the exterior lighting control module from detecting and notifying the driver of a failed rear turn-signal lamp. Failure to notify the driver of a rear turn-signal failure increases the risk of a crash. GM will update the software calibrations in the vehicle's exterior lighting control module, either through a dealer or via over-the-air (OTA) technology, at no cost to owners under NHTSA Campaign ID 26V213.

Hyundai Motor America

Hyundai Motor America is recalling certain 2023-2026 Genesis G90, 2023-2025 Hyundai IONIQ 6, and 2024-2026 Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles (including hybrids). The front seat belt(s) may not be sufficiently attached to the seat frame due to a damaged snap-on anchor clip, which could fail if removed or installed improperly during service. An insufficiently attached seatbelt anchor can increase the risk of injury to occupants during a crash. Dealers will inspect and apply a reinforcement remedy to the snap-on lower seat belt anchor or replace the seat belt assembly at no cost to owners under NHTSA Campaign ID 26V218.
