Guest Blog: 3Dtracking sees increasing demand for CO2 emissions monitoring

July 24, 2019
The CO2 emissions monitoring and reporting capabilities in 3Dtracking's telematics service platform is the first step for their fleet manager customers to understand the current CO2 emissions levels of the vehicles in their fleets.

The telematics software solution provider, 3Dtracking, has reported that the company is experiencing increasing demand from fleet management service providers for CO2 emissions monitoring and reporting.

The Guernsey-based company states that its fleet management service provider partners see the CO2 emissions monitoring and reporting capabilities in its telematics service platform as the first step for their fleet manager customers to understand the current CO2 emissions levels of the vehicles in their fleets.

3Dtracking explains that these monitoring and reporting features provide a framework for fleet managers to track progress for initiatives targeted at reducing CO2 emissions, whether in compliance with government regulations or in support of internal corporate objectives to improve the environmental sustainability of operations.

In the 3Dtracking platform, CO2 emissions levels are calculated per vehicle and per fleet. The reporting includes options to present the emissions levels over various time periods.

For providers of fleet management and telematics services, these new CO2 emissions monitoring and reporting capabilities create an important new use case for the 3Dtracking service platform. In addition to supporting initiatives for reducing CO2 emissions, these new capabilities can be used together with the fuel consumption information and maintenance histories stored in the 3Dtracking platform to ensure the optimal performance and operational costs for each vehicle and the overall fleet.

“Reducing CO2 emissions is obviously in the best interest of everyone, but also correlates to better fuel efficiency and lower costs for vehicle fleets,” explained Roydon Michael, Head of Business Development at 3Dtracking. “At the same time, we are pleased to give our service provider partners an important new use case for fleet management and telematics services and create new value for their customers.”
