Morgan Corporation introduces Mid-Temp and Home Body Delivery truck bodies

Aug. 30, 2017
Current production is available from Morgan's Denver, Pennsylvania; Portland, Oregon; and Riverside, California plants, with additional production rollouts planned for 2018.

Morgan Corporation, a North American designer and producer of light and medium duty truck and van bodies, announced the expansion of its NexGen 'Next Generation' product line.

In addition to its dry freight and refrigerated (reefer) bodies, Morgan has introduced a medium or "mid-temp" unit that is geared towards markets that require consistent temperatures control from 35 degrees F through 75 degrees F. The units can be either cooled or heated based on the application. The new mid-temp body is designed to provide an effective delivery solution for florists, bakeries, caterers, wine merchants, produce suppliers, art/auction houses and many others.

During Q3 2017 Morgan will also be demonstrating a prototype Home Delivery truck body that will incorporate the same design features as the existing line of NexGen bodies. With multiple curbside loading/unloading compartments of varying temperatures that allow for the transportation of frozen foods, fresh groceries like dairy and produce, and packaged goods, the NexGen Home Delivery body is designed to meet the needs of the rapidly expanding Final Mile transportation industry. The first public display of this new body design will be at the International Foodservice Distributor Association (IFDA) conference at the Gaylord National Harbor near Washington DC from October 15th through the 17th.

Featuring advanced design and cutting-edge materials, Morgan NexGen bodies are 15 to 20 percent lighter than current industry truck bodies, and carry 400 to 600 lbs. of increased payload compared to similarly-sized bodies, according to the company.  The sleek design and advanced materials help improve fuel economy, increase cargo capacity and provide better resistance to the elements, to help lower overall cost of ownership and achieve faster ROI.

The lightweight body is built of non-corrosive materials to inhibit rust. Built for durability, the NexGen body offers a stain-resistant phenolic flooring in the dry freight body and an aluminum "silent floor" in the reefer. Leak-free sealed joints keep product, cargo or tools dry because NexGen bodies are designed with elastomeric hard-mount installation brackets versus U-bolts, and these features increase the user's uptime by minimizing repairs and maintenance, according to the company.

Current production is available from Morgan's Denver, Pennsylvania; Portland, Oregon; and Riverside, California plants, with additional production rollouts planned for 2018.
