The staff and contributors of MACS Worldwide’s industry trade journal, ACTION magazine received five medals in the 2011 International Automotive Media Competition. The MACS Service Report, MACS monthly technical newsletter was also honored. The honors were announced at the June 21 awards ceremony held at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan. The competition is peer-judged, and each entry is measured against set standards of quality and presentation.
Receiving a gold medal for his MACS ACTION September/October 2010 editorial, “Informed choice” was MACS president and COO Elvis Hoffpauir. MACS ACTION editor, Jim Taylor also was recognized with a gold medal for his ACTION “Expansion valve” columns from January/February, May and June 2010.
MACS ACTION editorial contributor Ken Newton was honored with a silver medal for his business column, “Old habits will only send you broke” which ran in the May 2010 issue. MACS technical advisor Ward Atkinson received a silver medal for his environmental article, “Lessons learned” also in the May 2010 issue of ACTION.
Honored with a bronze medal for his July/August 2010 editorial column, “Shooting ourselves in the foot” was MACS chairman and CEO Andy Fiffick.
The November 2010 issue of the MACS Service Report, a technical newsletter, also received a bronze award. Recognized was Peter Meier technical contributor.
Since its inception in 2001, MACS ACTION magazine has been honored more than 55 times for outstanding editorial accomplishments. ACTION magazine publishes seven issues in English and one in Spanish annually reaching 89,000 professionals in the mobile A/C and engine cooling industry. MACS Service Report is a monthly technical publication sent only to MACS members.
The IAMC is sponsored by the International Society for Vehicle Preservation to recognize and encourage excellence in all forms of automotive media. The competition judges writing, graphics and presentations in many categories within divisions that include books, newspapers, magazine, radio, television, Internet, CD, and public relations.
