TMCSuperTech2010 skills champions named
In addition to honoring the trucking industry's top technicians, the Technology & Maintenance Council’s (TMC) 2010 National Technician Skills Competition recognizes the winners of the 14 skills stations that made up the hands-on skill challenge of the event.
Held earlier this week in Raleigh, NC, the two-day competition is specifically designed to showcase a technician’s diagnostic and problem-solving skills though a series of troubleshooting tests and challenges - both written and hands-on.
The skill stations winners were:
• Suspension/Steering - John Ragland, FedEx Express, Kansas City, KS. • Fasteners - Jeremy Lipps, Batesville Logistics, Batesville, IN. • Starting/Charging - Allen Davenport, FedEx Express, Brentwood, TN. • Drivetrain - Jeffrey Schlecht, Omaha Truck Center, Norfolk, NE. • Preventive Maintenance Inspection - Randy Qualls, Wal-Mart Transportation, Waterloo, SC. • Electrical - Tyler Donnelly, Wal-Mart Transportation, Smyrna, DE. • Fifth Wheel - Jason Kleman, International Truck and Engine, Warrenville, FL. • Trailer Alignment - John Ragland, FedEx Express, Kansas City, KS. • Tire & Wheel - Christopher Tate, Mohawk Truck, West Seneca, NY. • Service Information - Jason Kleman, International Truck and Engine, Warrenville, IL. • Repair Order - Jeffrey Schlecht, Omaha Truck Center, Norfolk, NE. • Wheel End - Jerry Bodkins, TravelCenters of America, Salem, OH. • Engine Hardware - Eric Vos, FedEx Freight, Harrison, AR. • Engine Electronics - Mike McGuire, FedEx Freight, Harrison, AR.All skill stations winners received the Noregon JPRO Fleet Diagnostic Software Bundle JPRO DLA+ Adapter, valued at more than $3,000 each.
Several workstations winners received additional prizes valued at more than $1,000.
