Container crusher reduces disposal cost

Of empty hazardous containers

The Big Squeeze container crusher from Newstripe reduces the volume of empty containers by up to 75 percent, according to the company.

The machine quickly and easily crushes automotive oil filters, one-gallon cans and five-gallon metal pails using standard shop air. Excess fluids drain to a separate container, allowing collected liquids to be disposed of while filters and containers can be sent out as scrap metal.

To use, a container is placed in the 12-inch x 15-inch chamber and up to 13,000 pounds of force crushes the item with a pressure plate that automatically retracts for the next cycle.

Five-gallon pails are reduced to 2.5 inches in under a minute and 7-inch oil filters are crushed to 1.5 inches in 30 seconds, Newstripe says. A safety door lock stops the crushing process if the door is opened during the cycle, or any time the door is open.

The Big Squeeze is backed by a 36-month warranty and an optional floor stand is also available.
