SmartTruck adds two distributors
SmartTruck, a new manufacturer of aerodynamic products for the trucking industry, announced the addition of two distributors, Trudell Trailers and Midlands Carrier Transicold, for its UT-6 Trailer UnderTray System at the 2011 Technology & Maintenance Council’s Annual Meeting & Transportation Technology Exposition.
“It’s exciting to see the significant interest in our product since the launch a few months ago,” said Mitch Greenberg, president, SmartTruck. “Trudell Trailers and Midlands Carrier Transicold are leaders in their market segments and territories, and we look forward to seeing more fleets and owner-operators becoming aware of and benefitting from our product through these two companies.”
The SmartTruck UT-6 system, introduced in October 2010, provides a fuel efficiency gain of at least 7 percent for the base model, with the full UT-6 trailer system delivering more than 10 percent gains in fuel efficiency, according to SAE test results. SmartTruck has re-engineered the UT-6 base configuration to create a system with nearly the same performance, but at less cost to the customer. This breakthrough will allow more fleets to experience the significant performance offered by the innovative design. The SmartTruck UT-6 system is on the verified aerodynamic technologies list from the EPA SmartWay program.
“We’ve seen a number of aerodynamic solutions over the past few years, and SmartTruck’s solution is truly unique,” said Greg Giergielewicz, vice president of sales, Trudell Trailers. “The SmartTruck UT-6 system is the next thing in delivering an ROI-based trailer aerodynamics solution, and that’s why we want to be a part of what SmartTruck is doing.”
“SmartTruck’s product captured our attention right away,” said Bill Willett, president, Midlands Carrier Transicold. “The UT-6 system is fundamentally different because of SmartTruck’s aerospace background and provides an out-of-the-box solution that we’re confident the refrigerated fleets and owner-operators we deal with will trust to make their trailers more aerodynamic and efficient.”
