2011 Oklahoma SuperTech winners announced
The Oklahoma Trucking Association recently held its own national technician skills competition at the Francis-Tuttle Technology Center in Oklahoma City.
Competitors were challenged with a 50-question written test followed by 10 hands-on diagnostic skill stations: ABS, Air Brakes, Electrical, Engine Electrical, Engine Mechanical, Fifth Wheel, PMI (Pre-Trip Maintenance inspection), Service Information, Tires and Wheel End.
Randall Hilburn of Swift Transportation earned the title of Oklahoma SuperTech Champion by taking first place in the competition.
He will represent Oklahoma this fall in Raleigh, NC, at the TMCSuperTech - North America’s premier skills competition for professional commercial vehicle technicians, put on by the Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC).
This national competition is sponsored by TMC's Professional Technician Development Committee (PTDC) - a group within TMC established to promote and enhance the professionalism of commercial vehicle technicians.
Clarence Preston of Cummins Southern Plains placed second in the Oklahoma SuperTech. Shannon Wolfe, TA Travel Centers was third.
