DTNA expanding Aftermarket operations

Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) continues to enhance the services and offerings of its Aftermarket division, which includes the Parts Distribution, Central Service, Parts Sales & Marketing, Distribution Network Development, Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing and Aftermarket Service Products operations.

The division continues to roll out among its dealer network the Express Assessment program. This is a dedicated lane/bay to provide, within two hours, and assessment of a vehicle problem and how long the repair will take.

With this information, fleets can make a more informed decision on how to handle the situation, says John O’Leary, senior vice president, Aftermarket division.

The division, through its OE Connection program, has increased parts availability to its overall network and facilitated online parts searches and e-commerce transactions between dealers.

More than 500 of Freightliner’s 700+ dealers all already enrolled in the program.

DTNA, through its Aftermarket division, offers Glider Kits.

These are a complete assembly of the cab, front axle, wheels and frame, plus all the Freightliner standard equipment, that can be combined with the powertrain components from a current vehicle.

O’Leary points out that “DTNA is the only OEM to offer factory-installed remanufactured engines as an option.”

Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing handles the remanufacturing of heavy duty engines and components, fuel/air systems, transmissions and electronics.

Alliance Trucks Parts, DTNA’s brand of all makes parts, has been expanded and includes new and remanufactured accessories and parts for maintenance and repairs.

These parts “meet original equipment specifications for form, fit and function,” he says, and are available at more than 800 locations nationwide, including Freightliner and Western Star dealers and TA and Petro truck stops.
