Winter temperatures take a toll on vehicles on the road. Be sure to perform routine check-ups when temperatures warm up.

Some of the top automotive repair bloggers have shared their top tips for routine check-ups with the WD-40 Brand. See what they have to say:

The Humble Mechanic
  • Inspect tires – even the spare – for wear, dry rot and proper inflation. Acceleration, braking and cornering can be improved with higher quality tires and proper care.
  • Use WD-40 EZ-Reach to lubricate and displace moisture inside latches to prevent doors, hoods and trunks from sticking.

Eric the Car Guy

  • Change windshield wiper blades when the seasons change. Spring is the perfect time to refresh windshield wipers after they worked hard all winter.
  • Check your battery before summer. Temperature changes often cause batteries to fail especially if they are old and weak.

BleepinJeep

  • Use WD-40 Big Blast to coat the underside of a vehicle to prevent dirt and mud from sticking before heading off-road.
  • Attach a neodymium magnet on the side of a drill press and attach a chuck to it when not in use to ensure you won’t lose it.
  • Take the first 30 minutes of the morning to clean up your shop and return every tool to its proper place to save time over the course of the day.
Matt from Busted Knuckle Films
  • Clean the terminals and battery cable ends. This will help the battery work its best in warmer weather. Use WD-40 Specialist Electrical Contact Cleaner to prevent battery acid buildup at the connections.
  • Continue to check tire pressure as seasons change, as pressure can fluctuate with temperature changes.
