The Alert Stamping Weatherproof Outdoor Reel is NEMA 3R rated, with a single female 5-15C connector and weather cap. This reel is available in two styles: The 5320TSW features a 20' SJTOOW 12/3 cord, 15 amp resettable circuit breaker, molded ball stop and a pigtail that is 60" SJTOOW 12/3 w/lighted male 5-15P outdoor plug; the 5330MSW features a 30' SJTOOW 14/3 cord, 13 amp resettable circuit breaker, molded ball stop and a pigtail that is 60" SJTOOW 14/3 w/Lighted Male 5-15P outdoor plug. Each includes an "L" style mounting bracket and hardware.

Origin

Alert Stamping developed this reel to address a need for reels that can deliver power to vehicles in damp or wet environments. Although the company has manufactured retractable reels for over sixty years, the challenge in developing this series was to develop approved weatherproof reels.

Manufacturing specs

The Weatherproof Retractable Reel was designed by Alert's in-house team located outside Cleveland, Ohio. The reels are manufactured in the company's China factory. The components vary in material and are designed to suit their application. The reel features a coated steel mounting bracket, copper cord, high impact plastic housing and SJTW outdoor rated cord jacket insulation. The unit weighs over 10 lbs.

Storage and display

This product is box packed, and Alert Stamping will provide a multicolor PDF sell sheet detailing the operation and application of the reel. The company suggests mounting the reel in the truck using the universal mounting bracket to allow live demo of the retraction.
