Set up for success

This International Terrastar is the foundation for Cornwell Tool dealer Rebecca Greene's well-organized and upbeat business.

Cornwell Tools dealer Rebecca Greene has been selling tools since September, 2016. Greene travels parts of Philipsburg and State College, Pennsylvania. One word to describe her stops would be variety. Greene visits high performance bike shops, small independents, large equipment specialty shops and standard auto dealerships.

Greene found her International Terrastar with help from Manager Mike Ward through the company Translease. For the most part, the truck has proved to be a reliable workhorse for the up-and-coming tool dealer.

“The Maxx Force 7 engine can present challenges,” says Greene. “So diligence in proper maintenance is truly important.”

Though she has no plans to upgrade in the near future, Greene is does have wishlist in the works for her next truck. Topping that list of ‘must-have’ features are a bookshelf to neatly house catalogs, a microwave and a drink chiller, as well we some blue colored backlighting.

Her customers claim Greene runs a tight ship -- er, truck.

“I get very positive feedback from clients about the immediacy of getting warranty work done for them, and also getting orders delivered in a reasonable amount of time,” Greene says.

Customers often comment Greene’s truck is one of the neatest and cleanest that comes around.

“Organizing [items] by service type and keeping things neat and very visible has [drawn] a lot of positive feedback,” she says.

Greene is learning as she goes, but her business is already off to a promising start.  “I didn’t know a lot about specialty tools when I started, but the gentlemen on my route have been the best teachers. They have shared lots of their experience and knowledge with tools and helped me to learn quickly.

“I try to keep a good attitude about what I do every day. I’ve learned if you personalize service and take good care of your customers, they will take care of you.”
