In Focus: SK Hand Tool Wide Capacity Tongue & Groove Pliers
The SK Hand Tool Wide Capacity Tongue & Groove Pliers, No. 7412, can be used on round objects like pipes, rods and hoses providing three points of contact for a more positive grip on the object than a traditional tongue and groove pliers. The wide capacity, ranging from 1/2"-4", eliminates the need to carry multiple tools to cover the full range of work surface sizes. The tool's angled narrow head design allows access into tighter spaces than other pliers. Other features of the pliers include a flush rivet design for access in tight work spaces and a textured cushion grip for positive hold.
Application
The Wide Capacity Pliers was designed for use on round and cylindrical objects like pipes, rods, hoses and numerous other materials techs find on the job. With the wide capacity and three points of contact, the 7412 pliers can be used on many different work surfaces and many different applications.
Origin
SK Hand Tool brought together a panel of industry experts to discuss issues they have in the field and on the job. The experts had a difficult time grabbing cylindrical parts with standard pliers that only have two small contact points. The 7412 was created to alleviate that issue techs were having, as well as have an extra-wide capacity range to fulfill multiple sized circular parts.
