Show me your truck: Bill Lynch, Independent

Gearwrench Street Team member Bill Lynch customized this 2007 18’ C4500 Chevy bus to create a unique tool selling experience for his customers.

Gearwrench Street Team member and independent distributor Bill Lynch went independent in September 2016, after four-and-a-half years with a flag.

Lynch has a large territory based in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, with a mix of rural and smaller towns. He services a variety of customers.

He purchased his current tool “truck” -- a 2007 18’ C4500 Chevrolet bus with a Duramax engine -- for $350 at an auction. He did a complete overhaul of the bus interior, removing all seats and building customized shelving and lighting.

“I built all the shelving and lighting, installed the inverter myself,” he says. “Basically, I built everything myself. I stripped out the bus, the seats and build it up from there using 3x4 plywood and felt carpeting.”

When customers are on the truck, Lynch emphasizes that it still “feels like you’re on a regular tool truck.”
