The Cal-Van Tools Hydraulic In-Line Flaring Tool, No. 166, combines features of an in-line flaring tool and a hydraulic flaring tool to provide a lightweight, low-profile tool. Designed to be easy to use compared to hydraulic-type and traditional offerings, this tool offers time savings and fits into tight access areas. It also does single, double and bubble flares with the option to expand into quick-connect fittings, and it includes a constant tension tube cutter.
Application
The Cal-Van Tools Hydraulic In-Line Flaring Tool can be used for flaring all types of automotive tubing. It can be used with the tubing still in place on the vehicle, or on the bench on custom lines.
Selling points
- Combines the features of Cal-Van's In-Line Flaring Tool (No. 165) with a hydraulic flare tool.
- The hydraulic cylinder allows easy one-handed use - there is no need to hold the tool with a wrench and tighten the center of the screw with a ratchet.
- Reduces the likelihood of a bad quality flare, saving technicians' time.
Features and benefits
- The small hydraulic cylinder has a mechanical screw that is easily turned with one hand, even in confined spaces, to form single, double and bubble flares on tubing.
- After the fittings are tightened, the tool can be operated entirely by hand, with no need for wrenches or ratchets to turn a forcing screw to form the flare.
- The kit includes the popular Cal-Van 157 mini constant tension tubing cutter.
Origin
The Hydraulic In-Line Flaring Tool was developed because technicians needed to be able to apply more forming pressure with less effort. It was developed to eliminate the need for holding a wrench and ratchet to flare the tube.
