New wheels

Purchasing a truck has made a world of difference for Baltimore-based Cornwell Tools dealer Rick Huether’s business.

After several years spent trying to efficiently and effectively operate his business out of his old, worn-out truck, Rick Huether eventually came to realize he was in dire need of an upgrade.

The Baltimore-based Cornwell Tools dealer purchased a brand-new 2016 Freightliner 26’ truck in August of 2016 and immediately came away impressed by how much the new vehicle affected his day-to-day operations.

“The old one was really hurting,” explains Huether. “It was smaller, maybe 20.’ Customers couldn’t get on the truck. It was overloaded. Just packed.”

Huether opted to buy a new truck instead of making some much-needed repairs to his old one, figuring an upgrade would ultimately give him more peace of mind. He figures he will work for about another 15 years or so, making his latest tool truck the last one he will ever have to purchase.

“All of the lights needed to be changed on the other one,” he says. “It was dark. It was dingy. It was just stressful to drive around it in, and it made it so I didn’t want to come to work. This one? It’s great.”
