In Focus: Induction Innovations Mini-Ductor Venom

Feb. 3, 2017
The Mini-Ductor Venom generates heat without open flame.

The Induction Innovations Mini-Ductor Venom generates "invisible heat" to release ferrous and some non-ferrous metals from corrosion and thread lock compounds without the dangers of open flame. This tool will turn a 3/4” nut red-hot in 15 seconds. It can be used to easily release seized nuts/bolts from corrosion or thread lock compounds; remove/release steering/suspension components, fuel tank straps, inline connectors, Zerk fittings, manifold bolts, truck bed bolts, seat belt bolts, U-bolts, tie rod sleeves/ends, soft hail dents, metal fabrication, soldering and heat treating. It also can be used to remove heavy undercoatings applied over hardware.

Application

The Mini-Ductor Venom generates heat without the dangers of open flame. It can be used for a variety of applications, including steering/suspension components, bearings, fuel tank straps, soft hail dents and more.

Selling points

  • Coils lock down with one simple turn (no more thumb screws), and Venom works with all Mini-Ductor coils.
  • Venom’s lightweight, ergonomic design allows for induction heat to access hard-to-reach places more easily.
  • A red LED will light under fault conditions and a green LED lights while the trigger is active and the tool is heating properly.
  • As long as the tool is powered and the internal power supply is operating, the LED will remain lit when the switch is on.
  • Venom has a two-year parts and labor warranty.

Features and benefits

  • The Mini-Ductor Venom generates "invisible heat" to release ferrous and some non-ferrous metals from corrosion and thread lock compounds up to 90 percent faster, without the dangers of open flame.
  • 3/4” nuts are turned red hot in less than 15 seconds.
  • Venom’s feature set allows users to repair vehicles and equipment faster, safer and more profitably, and to salvage parts normally discarded.

Origin

The Mini-Ductor Venom was created as an enhancement from Induction Innovation's Mini-Ductor II. It was developed based on feedback from users of the Mini-Ductor II (what they liked, what they felt could be improved). Some of the enhancements include:

  • Angled design with trigger
  • Coil twist lock
  • LED usage indicator
  • Fault override delay
  • Fan operation enhancements
  • User-controlled LED switch

 Manufacturing specs

The Mini-Ductor Venom is made in Elgin, Ill. The housing is military-grade impact-resistant plastic. It has a 1,000W max, and weights 2.6 lbs.

Storage and display

The product is shipped in a carry case that also includes a 7/8" pre-formed coil, a U-form coil and a bearing buddy coil. The product ships with one unit per package, unless multiple units are ordered. The company suggests that when showcasing the item to customers, distributors should expose the unit by opening the carrying case.
