Former Autopart International President Roger Patkin passes away
Roger A. Patkin, 55, former President of Autopart International, passed away on Jan. 30, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.
He had a passion for the business and was an active member of several industry associations, including a board member of the Auto Care Association from 1995 to 2005. He also was a professor of entrepreneurial leadership at Tufts University in Boston from 2016 to present.
Patkin is survived by his wife Susan; three children, Jake, Julia and Carly; brother Todd; sister Kimberly Macchi and her husband Dean; and parents Stephen and Sally Patkin.
Autopart International, a wholly owned subsidiary of Advance Auto Parts, is a provider of premium automotive aftermarket parts for the professional service provider.
Patkin graduated from Needham High School in Needham, Mass., in 1980 and received a BA degree from Tufts University in 1984. He received a JD degree from Boston University in 1988. He was an avid skier and snowboarder.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 1 at Temple Beth Shalom, 670 Highland Avenue, Needham. Shiva will be held at the temple following the memorial service and again at his home in Needham from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1; 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2; 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3; and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 4. Family and friends are invited to attend.
