Gates appoints Jamey Seely executive VP, general counsel

Seely will assume responsibility for all legal matters for Gates, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, regulatory matters, compliance, patents and trademarks, real estate, employment, and environmental.

Gates Corporation announced the appointment of Jamey Seely as executive vice president and general counsel effective September 5, 2017. She will report to Ivo Jurek, chief executive officer.

In her role, Seely will assume responsibility for all legal matters for Gates, including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, regulatory matters, compliance, patents and trademarks, real estate, employment, and environmental.

"We are delighted that Jamey is joining Gates. She brings broad experience in the industrial sector and is well-prepared to provide steady leadership to the Gates legal team and to the Gates employees and partners worldwide," Jurek said.  

Seely joins Gates from Ion Geophysical, a leading technology firm in the global oil and gas industry where she served as General Counsel leading all corporate law and governance matters across multiple continents. Prior to her position at Ion Geophysical, Jamey held executive leadership roles at NRG Energy, Nuclear Innovation North America (NINA), and Direct Energy. Additionally, Seely  has private practice experience as a partner at Thompson & Knight LLC, a premier law firm in Houston, Texas. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Baylor University and her law degree from SMU's Dedman School of Law.
