Auto parts resellers define needs of customers

Auto parts resellers say part quality matters most to professional technicians, while price is king with DIY customers

Bruce Adams, managing editor for Aftermarket Business World, wrote a blog, "Automotive parts resellers note differences between professional, DIY customers.”

Most auto parts resellers (56 percent) said that price is the most important need of do-it-yourself (DIY) customers. But when it come to their professional customers, 43 percent of the same respondents said quality was the most important need of their customers. Some 21 percent of resellers said price was the second most important consideration of their professional customers.
