With broad coverage and superior performance and durability, ATP Automotive is the leading one-stop source for top-quality flexplates and flywheels.

“Precision manufacturing, accurate coverage and consolidations without compromise make ATP Automotive the right choice for flexplates and flywheels,” said Bob Benisek, product manager for ATP, Inc. “Our flexplates are made of high quality steel and have the correct bolt hole spacing and ring gear teeth, just like the original part, to ensure long life and durability. Our flywheels also provide precision fit and function for ease of installation and longevity.”

Vehicles with automatic transmissions have a flexplate that connects the engine and transmission. Most flexplates are made of a thick piece of sheet metal with bolt holes for the torque converter and teeth for the starter. Manual transmission vehicles are equipped with a flywheel where the clutch assembly is mounted. The flywheel provides a smooth friction surface for the clutch disk.

“The constant expansion and contraction of a flexplate over time can result in cracks and or shearing of the flexplate, and a damaged flexplate can create serious and expensive damage. Broken flexplates cannot be repaired and must be replaced,” said Benisek. “Flywheels can crack, become worn, or break starter teeth and once a damaged flywheel is diagnosed, a replacement flywheel is the only route to go.”
