Germany’s WM Group takes over Trost SE

Family-owned WM Group with its Wessels+Mueller AG WD announced their takeover of Trost SE. The Trost group, one of the largest WDs in Germany, was formed in 2009 through a merger of Trost and KSM and generates $1.0 billion in sales in five countries.

Family-owned WM Group with its Wessels+Mueller AG WD announced their takeover of Trost SE. The Trost group, one of the largest WDs in Germany, was formed in 2009 through a merger of Trost and KSM and generates $1.0 billion in sales in Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.

The similar sized WM group has operations in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and is present in the U.S. through their ownership of European parts specialist SSF Imported Auto Parts in South San Francisco.

Bastian Mueller, member of WM Group’s Executive Board and Chairman of SSF, said: “We are excited about this important step which will support the continued strong development for all our group companies. Our customers in all markets will benefit from further improved parts availability and service levels.”  

The formation of Europe's largest WD is contingent on regulatory approvals.
