Steve Hughes named to CAWA Manufacturers’ Advisory Council

Steve Hughes of Centric Parts was appointed to the California Automotive Wholesalers' Association (CAWA) Manufacturers’ Advisory Council.

Steve Hughes, Vice President of Government Affairs, Supplier Development and Logistics at Centric Parts, was appointed to the California Automotive Wholesalers' Association (CAWA) Manufacturers’ Advisory Council.

Hughes was appointed by the Chair of the Board of Directors, Ron Aparicio. “We are pleased to have Mr. Hughes serve in a leadership role for the Association and welcome him to the Manufacturers’ Advisory Council,” Aparicio said.

“It is a great honor for Centric Parts, and for myself personally, to be asked to participate in CAWA in this way,” stated Hughes. “The whole Centric team has taken a very active role in helping the industry on many fronts, and we are always glad to participate when asked.”

Besides serving multiple executive roles within Centric Parts, Hughes has been part of the auto care industry for over 40 years, holding positions with IMPAC, HCS International and Advanced Engine Management before joining Centric in 2006. Besides representing Centric on the Brake Manufacturers Council, Hughes is also a voting member of the SAE Brake Dynamometer Committee, a member of the Brake Materials Environmental Task Force, the Brake Rotor Task Force Committee and the Brake Linings Standards Committee. He has also testified in front of the International Trade Commission and worked with the National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration on brake related issues.

CAWA is an automotive aftermarket trade association that represents auto parts jobbers, retailers, warehouse distributors, manufacturers, manufacturer representatives and program groups. The association provides educational, legislative and business support to the industry and its membership.
