Hahn Automotive Warehouse to Acquire E&L Battery & Ignition

  Hahn Automotive Warehouse, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Prime Automotive Parts Co. and E&L Battery & Ignition Co., have signed an agreement for Hahn to acquire E&L.  

Hahn Automotive Warehouse, a Rochester, N.Y. based corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary, Prime Automotive Parts Co. and E&L Battery & Ignition Co., a Newark, N.J. based company have signed an agreement for Hahn to acquire E&L.

Both Hahn and E&L are warehouse distributors of aftermarket automotive parts.  Steven Blumenkranz, E&L’s President, will continue with the company following the completion of the transaction.  Terms of the transaction, which is expected to close on or about April 29, 2013, were not disclosed.

E&L is a warehouse distributor of aftermarket automotive parts with its main warehouse location in Newark, N.J., along with eight branches.  Hahn and E&L are both members of the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, a leading international buying and marketing association. Hahn said it elected to acquire E&L based on E&L’s performance as a well-managed company with a commitment to growth and customer service in the New Jersey market.

“I am pleased to be joining Hahn to continue with the business of the combined Prime/E&L entity,” Blumenkranz, said. “This combination provides significant opportunities for growth for our customers, including enhanced sales and marketing efforts.”

Hahn is a distributor of automotive aftermarket parts through its 20 strategically located distribution centers to over 80 Advantage Auto Stores and over 2,000 independent jobbers, in the Midwest and along the Eastern Seaboard.  Prime Automotive Parts Co., Inc. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hahn, with its main warehouse location in Glendale, New York, and 23 pick-up warehouses located in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
