The agenda is set for the Fall Conference of the Automotive Aftermarket Suppliers Association (AASA) Technology Council (ATC), and the conference hotel is now offering special room rates for the event, slated for Sunday, Oct. 14, through Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Marco Island, Fla.

“The ATC Fall Conference 2012 theme, ‘The Intersection of Business & Technology,’ focuses on the evolving role of automotive aftermarket technology professionals and business/marketing executives,” says Susan Ulrey, executive director, sales operations and customer service, Tenneco and ATC Board of Governors officer. “Aftermarket mission-critical activities and processes traditionally have been developed and framed by business/marketing executives and handed to the technology professionals to implement,” he explained.

“In order to meet the joint mission of cost effective manufacturing of quality products and providing value-added services to customers, these two disciplines will work side-by-side going forward – along with market research, category management, customer service and product management.”

The ATC Fall Conference agenda is designed with the needs of automotive aftermarket suppliers in mind, explains Chris Gardner, AASA vice president. “From the keynote addresses from top aftermarket channel partners to the ‘Member Spotlight’ presentations from ATC members, this annual conference is the only event in our industry focused on the needs of aftermarket supplier technology professionals,” he noted.

“Individuals who are responsible for their company’s customer service, business support, e-commerce, information services, cataloging, forecasting, supply chain, EDI, IT/IS and Web services are urged to register and make room reservations as soon as possible,” Gardner says.

ATC Fall Conference 2012 highlights will include:

  • Customer Presentations – Insightful presentations and Q/A sessions with leading channel partners on their future technology directions
  • Member Spotlight – ATC manufacturer member’s successful technology deployments
  • Manufacturer-only Session – Supplier-only discussion of technology issues, best practices and solutions
  • Data/Catalog Breakout Session – Presentations and open discussions on catalog, product and data topics
  • Information Technology Breakout Session – Cloud services, virtual servers, supporting mobile devices
  • Keynote: Collaborative Forecasting – Preparing for and utilizing sales and operations planning
  • Keynote: Online Content - Proper preparation and delivery of "romance data" for online commerce
  • Keynote: There's an App for That - Aftermarket's Appetite for and Challenges with Mobile Devices and Apps
