Exide to supply Pep Boys with Bosch batteries

Under a new contract with Robert Bosch Corporation, Exide Technologies will now supply the company's automotive starter batteries to all Pep Boys locations in the United States and Puerto Rico.

ALPHARETTA, Ga.-

Under a new contract with Robert Bosch Corporation, Exide Technologies will now supply the company’s automotive starter batteries to all Pep Boys locations in the United States and Puerto Rico.

A leader in stored electrical-energy solutions, Exide will begin automotive battery shipments this month to the almost 600 store locations.

The agreement will further expand Pep Boys’ Bosch product inventory, which includes 16 SKUs and fits almost all U.S. and Puerto Rican vehicles on the road.

“This is a powerful alliance. The Bosch brand—the premium battery offering at all of Pep Boys retail locations—further expands Exide’s reach into the automotive marketplace,” says Bruce Cole, president of Transportation Americas for Exide Technologies.

Based in Illinois, Bosch creates precision automotive components and systems for global vehicle manufacturers. Serving the four segments of the automotive aftermarket — do-it-yourself, do-it-for-me, buy-for-resale and replacement tires — Pep Boys is an aftermarket retailer and service chain.
