The Ford 6.4-liter Super Duty suffers from an undersized air filter box and a restrictive air filter that chokes down airflow to minimal engine requirements. True Flow's design team looked to improve on the intake system to achieve maximum performance from the new Ford diesel.
True Flow removes the air box and tubing that connects to the turbo and replaces them with smooth tubing, a silicone coupler and a high flow aluminum canister with a massive 5-inch inlet and outlet. Company officials said that, after extensive research on a flow bench, they changed the direction of the air filter so that the air flows from the inside out. True Flow calls it "inverted air flow technology," which increases the air flow by more 50 percent and increases power by up to 27 horsepower and up to 62 lb.-ft. of torque.
