LOS ANGELES - Officials at Stage 8 Locking Fasteners touted a 100 percent success rate (20 years without a failure) at MPMC on Tuesday as they discussed their line of locking fasteners for automotive enthusiasts and racers.

Representatives claim these fasteners are insurance against horsepower loss or costly damage created by loose nuts and bolts. The unique patented and trademarked functional design is just three pieces: a bolt (4130 Alloy Steel), a locking retainer and a spring clip. (Depending on the application the three pieces could be a nut, a locking retainer and a spring clip.)

The bolts are application specific as either hex head with a 3/16 recessed Allen head or 12 point. Both come in multiple lengths and Stage 8 Locking Fasteners are available in custom sizes and material by special order.

Critical parts are easily secured, officials say. Vibration, stress conditions and constant wide temperature swings will no longer loosen vital components. As an example, no more loss of horsepower caused by leaking exhaust headers or collectors; no more oil leaks from valve covers or oil pans.

Stage 8 Locking Fasteners have fitments for most popular domestic and import vehicles and are available in an extensive list of application specific kits.
