Droptop is partnering with Vertical Development to simplify lube shop management. By integrating Vertical Development’s ShowMeTheFilters' parts catalog system into their cloud-based management software, Droptop is able to deliver a more complete shop management system. Users can find parts based on the VIN number, see photos and feel confident in the fitment of parts being used without leaving Droptop.

Droptop is the newest player in the quick lube software space, offering an all-in-one solution that simplifies shop management. Since their launch at the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in 2018, the company has steadily added features based on feedback from users across the United States and Canada. By integrating the ShowMeTheFilters database into their software package, they’re able to offer customers a way to find compatible parts for almost any vehicle, see photos and get technical information.

Droptop’s new quick lube management software is cloud-based, letting users manage their business from almost any type of hardware, including smartphones and tablets. This makes it a perfect fit for both brick and mortar shops and mobile oil change businesses. Managers can track sales, job times, inventory and more across their business. Technicians can access job information and print receipts or email them directly to customers, even when they’re on location. This all-in-one solution makes it easy to handle day-to-day operations and track profits and job times to find areas that need improvement. It’s also scalable, so an account can be used for businesses ranging in size from a single service truck to multiple shops.

Vertical Development’s ShowMeTheParts is the most up-to-date public parts catalog on the market, covering over 4.5 million application parts from over 350 suppliers and manufacturers of aftermarket replacement parts. This includes cars, trucks, heavy-duty vehicles, power sports equipment, marine and agricultural applications dating back to 1901. “By integrating ShowMeTheFilters into Droptop, their inventory management system is able to cover virtually every vehicle and parts application users will come across,” says Jay Wright, President, Vertical Development.

The VIN decoder identifies the exact make, model, and options, taking the guesswork out of parts compatibility. From there, technicians have access to millions of images, 360-degree views of parts and technical documents. Having this information on hand saves time finding and installing Filters, or add-on sales items like Batteries, Light Bulbs, Wiper Blades or other vehicle specific parts to enhance revenue opportunities with each oil change. Droptop is able to use this information to make replenishment recommendations for efficient inventory management.
