Auto Care Association announces Scott Howat as Business Development Executive

The Auto Care Association announced Scott Howat as the association's new Business Development Executive.    

The Auto Care Association today announced Scott Howat as the association’s new Business Development Executive. The new role focuses on establishing long-term strategic goals, building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions.

In his new role as Business Development Executive, Howat will connect Auto Care Association members and nonmembers alike to the association’s products and services, identifying solutions that will create value by addressing operational issues.

Howat’s professional career demonstrates more than 25 years of commitment to content and the auto care industry, holding multiple leadership roles in marketing, product management, sales and communications. Prior to his most recent stint at Syndigo, Howat served as as vice president of product and marketing for Nivel Parts and Manufacturing, located in Jacksonville, Fla. Prior to joining Nivel in May 2017, Howat was director of sales and marketing with the Gates Corporation in the North American aftermarket. Howat joined Gates in 2014 as the director of end market communication, where he was responsible for marketing activation, training, end market sales growth and field technology teams, and the power transmission (PT) and fluid power (FP) category management teams (product line managers), along with pricing support for the North American aftermarket. He has also held roles with Affinia Group, Echlin, Dana and BWD Automotive.

Howat also has been actively involved with the Auto Care Association through his time spent as a volunteer, having served on the association’s Marketing and Communications Committee, Automotive Communications Council and having chaired the Events Committee.

Howat graduated from the University of Southern New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and earned his Master Automotive Aftermarket Professional (MAAP) designation from the University of the Aftermarket.
