Identifix supports eBay Motors with virtual tech service

Nov. 7, 2017
Identifix has teamed up with eBay Motors to introduce “Virtual Tech,” a new service that will connect the DIY market with ASE-certified technicians as consumers research cost-effective and accurate parts and repairs.

Identifix, Inc., a subsidiary of Solera Holdings, Inc., has teamed up with eBay Motors, one of the largest automotive destinations, to introduce “Virtual Tech.” The new service will connect the growing Do-It-Yourself (DIY) market with Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified technicians as consumers research cost-effective and accurate parts and repairs.

Virtual Tech will provide a hotline to car technicians as buyers shop for parts and installation expertise. A 10-minute phone call with a Certified ASE Technician will cost $19.95, and a 20-minute phone call with a Master ASE Technician will cost $49.95.  Virtual Tech sessions can be purchased alongside parts purchased on eBay.

“At eBay Motors, we’re focused on delivering buyers the best choice and selection of inventory all in one destination, coupled with simplified end-to-end experiences,” said Todd Madeiros, Vice President of eBay Motors. “The new Virtual Tech feature enhances the eBay automotive shopping journey, connecting DIYers with expert guidance instantly.”

“The Identifix Virtual Tech hotline is one more way for online shoppers to make informed decisions when shopping for parts to upgrade or repair a vehicle,” said Cris Hollingsworth, General Manager of Solera Global Service, Maintenance, Repair and Enterprise Solutions. “Our goal is to support that process with the best expertise in the industry.”

A recognized leader in the commercial automotive aftermarket industry, Identifix helps customers fix vehicles faster and with a higher level of accuracy. The Auto Care Association, a non-profit voice for the auto care industry, predicts the DIY market will reach $57 billion by the end of 2017. Catering to this growing market, the Virtual Tech hotline is the latest of several products offered by Identifix to eBay customers, and it will be one more solution to help customers who need additional guidance fix vehicles faster and with a higher level of accuracy.

For over 20 years, Identifix has served more than 250,000 automotive technicians and shop owners in the United States, Canada and Latin America through its online Direct-Hit system, Repair Hotline service and Direct-Shop management system. Founded with the goal of helping technicians fix more cars in less time, Identifix has become an industry leader providing coverage for 98% of U.S. vehicles in operation with online and hotline diagnostics and repair information.
