Auto parts e-tailing causes distribution channel challenges

E-tailing, the fastest growing trend in the automotive aftermarket, creates logistic and cost challenges for auto parts distributors.

Bruce Adams, managing editor for Aftermarket Business World, wrote a blog, “Increased e-tailing in auto parts channel presents distribution challenges.”

As e-tailing becomes more prevalent in the aftermarket, suppliers will be dealing with more small auto part shipments. This will increase their costs and they will be challenged to find ways to overcome that.

Auto aftermarket partners will need to work together to address this challenge – such as paint companies using their jobber network to fulfill direct sales.
