NUCAP, SafeBraking.com announce prize winner

After a three-month contest, a grand prize winner for Safebraking.com's (with collaboration with NUCAP Industries) Bad Brake Pad Contest has been chosen.
After a three-month contest, a grand prize winner for Safebraking.com's (with collaboration with NUCAP Industries) Bad Brake Pad Contest has finally been chosen (and pictured at left)!
The contest itself challenged anyone with a camera to take a picture of the worst brake pad they could find and send it in to the NUCAP and/or Safebraking.com's websites. Then each month a monthly and three weekly runner-up were selected from our panel of expert technicians and engineers; and that monthly winner received a $250 Snap-on Tools gift card while each of the runners up took home a $100 Snap-on Tools gift card.
But the real showstopper for this contest is the Grand Prize: a round-trip flight for two to Las Vegas with hotel accommodations for SEMA 2014.
The contest received numerous entries with photos showing pads with adhesive bonding experiencing delamination and rust jacking, which contributed to shorter brake pad life.
The Grand Prize Winner is Ivy Palmer from Ivy Automotive. Palmer is an automotive technician who has regularly submitted photos for the contest. After a few entries, Palmer sent in a picture of one of her customers's brakes, whom she says came in because the customer heard their brakes grinding from the left rear tire, but kept driving until the calipers locked up.
