Mac Tools distributor Wilson Gammill, co-owns T&K Tools, based out of Ackerman, Mississippi, with his uncle, Wesley Gammill.
Named after his two sons, Tres and Kindal, Gammill founded T&K Tools in September 2011. He now manages three routes in the northern Mississippi area. Wesley joined the business a year after T&K Tools started, followed by a third route in March 2016 managed by Michael Gordon, one of Gammill’s previous customers.
While Gammill runs a route four days a week, he has also taken on larger management role with having multiple routes.
“My uncle partnered with me,” Gammill says. “I do all the pay roll, paying all the bills. I do all of that. They run the routes, collect all the money and sell the tools. I handle more of the business side of it.”
Outfitted by Herr Display Vans, Gammill decided to purchase his 28’ 2017 Peterbilt truck while attending the 2016 Mac Tools Tool Fair.
“He offered me a really good deal to get one at the show,” Gammill says, of his talks with representatives at Herr Display Vans. “They’ll build it, show it to everybody (at the show).”
While he has no immediate plans to leave the tool selling business, he hopes one day his sons might consider running T&K Tools.
“I have two sons. I hope one day they – I’m not pressuring them, but if they want to one day – take over the routes.”
