Snap-on introduces the Truck Anchor Pin Press (TAP1), especially designed to remove and replace brake anchor pins and bushings without removing the hub on 16-1/2" Q-type S-cam tractor and trailer brake systems from Dana Spicer, ArvinMeritor, Eaton, Timkin and Fruehauf. According to the company, the TAP1 also features:
- A time savings of approximately 25 minutes per hub that you wouldn't have to remove.
- Portability with a 3/4" impact gun, cutting time from 30 minutes down to 5.
- 3 times the strength and 30 percent more force output than standard comparable products.
- Interchangeable pressure pads to allow the removal of a bushing, or the simultaneous removal of a pin and bushing, so you don't have to switch tools.
- Retaining rings that secure pressure pads in place for more stability and control.
- The maximum force transferal to pins and bushings during the replacement procedure.
- A frame beveled on both sides for clearance around rivets on stamped brake "spiders."
- A high strength yoke and heavy 1-1/4" x 12" pressure screw threads to move even the most difficult pins and bushings.
- A shank with a reduced diameter to provide better hub clearance.
- A Zerk grease fitting that lubricates and flushes dirt from the pressure screw to help maintain the life of the pin press.
