The Kyocera Soot Sensing Element supports emissions systems by monitoring soot filters in diesel engine vehicles. The platinum-free element can withstand operating temperatures above 500 degrees C by utilizing a base-metal alloy. By not using platinum, the element resists oxidation at high temps. The Soot Sensor Element is designed to measure the level of particulates in diesel exhaust and detect cases in which soot emissions exceed regulatory limits.
