Line Repair

Sept. 17, 2010

AirSept’s Line Splice allows quick repair of rub-through damage, pinhole leaks and cross-threaded joints. With the product, technicians can repair a damaged section of the line without having to do a complete line replacement. The Line Splice works on any steel or aluminum lines. It is available in a range of inch and mm O.D. sizes. A new sealing sleeve is up to 8 times wider than a standard o-ring, says the company. It seals against irregular tubing surfaces, preventing leak “travel” that can defeat narrow o-ring seals. The wider sleeve also helps resist vibration that creates leaks. A slotted tension ring coupled with a tapered nut guarantees a tight grip on the tubing. The Line Splice works with an open end wrench. No crimping tools are required.
