Prompt delivery of auto parts to repairers faces many challenges

The need for prompt auto parts deliveries from warehouse distributors to auto repair shops will shape and define future aftermarket business practices.

Auto repair shops have many options now when ordering auto parts. They can order from warehouse distributors, auto parts retailers, jobbers or from a growing list of online third-party auto parts providers. Their most reliable providers are those that can get them the right part at the right time at a reasonable price.

Repair shops don’t have the luxury of asking customers to come back tomorrow because they don’t have the parts need for your repair. The automotive aftermarket has done a good job of being able to provide needed parts in a timely fashion for repairs. But they have growing challenges, such as increasing technology in vehicles requiring more parts, a general trend of parts proliferations and challenging training issues for employees and their technician customers.
