Survey: Aftermarket IT spending increased significantly in 2012, at faster pace than other manufacturers

“The results indicate that the primary business driver of the increased aftermarket IT spending is meeting customer needs and integrating with customers,” notes Steve Handschuh, president and COO of AASA. “The aftermarket also is ahead of the curve in comparison with other industries in terms of both use and perceived value from cloud computing.”
“The ATC survey results further show that e-commerce and e-tailing growth is contributing to significant changes in aftermarket IT,” adds Paul McCarthy, AASA vice president of industry analysis, planning and member services. McCarthy will present the key findings, including 2013’s major IT trends and how IT can contribute to a competitive advantage in the aftermarket at the upcoming ATC Fall Conference. The conference is slated for Sunday, Oct. 14, through Tuesday, Oct. 16, in Marco Island, Fla.
