Advance Auto Parts names Hanighen VP, commercial marketing

  Advance Auto Parts appointed John Hanighen Vice President, Commercial Marketing. He will be responsible for all of the marketing elements needed to support the growth of the company’s commercial business.

Advance Auto Parts appointed John Hanighen Vice President, Commercial Marketing. He will be responsible for all of the marketing elements necessary to support the growth of the company’s Commercial business, including refining and articulating the company’s value proposition and brand.

Hanighen will report to Jim Durkin, Senior Vice President, Commercial Business and will be based in Roanoke, Va.

 “I am thrilled to welcome John to the Commercial team to play a key role in our continued focus on growing our Commercial business,” said Durkin. “John is a seasoned aftermarket leader with over 20 years of experience, with a unique combination of sales, marketing and technology expertise in billion-dollar plus revenue environments. John is a collaborative leader who motivates teams to embrace aggressive goals.”

 Prior to joining Advance, Hanighen served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Rostra Precision Controls Inc., an ISO 9001 certified leading manufacturer of powertrain electrical components and automotive accessories to the original equipment and aftermarket sales channels.

Prior to Rostra, he served in multiple leadership roles at NAPA, lastly serving at the Vice President of Commercial Marketing. Prior to that, he served as Director of Commercial Sales at AutoZone. Hanighen has a MBA in Management and Finance from Xavier University in Cincinnati, and a B.B.S. in Accounting and Finance from California State University in San Francisco.
