Yonkers Mayor signs executive order to implement electric vehicles

The Green Fleet Standards for City Vehicles executive order is set to help the city reach their greenhouse gas emission reduction goals.

Mike Spano, mayor of Yonkers, New York, signed the Green Fleet Standards for City Vehicles executive order. The order will help the city reach their GHG emission reduction goals through the replacement of gas vehicles with battery electric vehicles. The executive order outlines the light duty class vehicles that the city will procure and implement into their fleets. The order further outlines future procurement of medium and heavy duty electric vehicles, as well as establishes the Green Fleet Standards Review Committee to guide the executive order and its implications.
