Diesel Laptops, a distributor for commercial truck diesel diagnostic software and hardware, announced that it has joined forces with American Diesel Training Centers, one of the largest producers of diesel technicians in the U.S., to host a free webinar on July 10 at 2 PM EST highlighting the diesel technician shortage and solutions to the problem.
Conservative estimates put the diesel technician shortage at 20,000 technicians today, with 140,000 technicians needed within the next three years. Currently, technician schools in the U.S. are producing less than 5,000 graduates per year. Tyler Robertson, chief executive officer of Diesel Laptops, and Tim Spurlock, founder of ADTC, will be addressing what has led to this massive shortage and what can be done to fix it. Topics to be covered include alternatives to traditional technical schools, methods to increase employee retention, and how to use technology to ensure technicians are current with the needs of the marketplace.
