Rappahannock Goodwill Industries has selected FleetCommander fleet and motor pool software to manage its fleet of sedans, box trucks, trailers and tractor-trailers in its Fredericksburg, VA-based facility. The announcement was made by Agile Access Control, Inc., (Agile) creator of FleetCommander.
Rappahannock Goodwill Industries' fleet is comprised of both pooled and assigned vehicles, which have been managed in the past through the use of spreadsheets and paper records. According to Transportation Director Ricky Beynum, in addition to being able to login online to the FleetCommander dashboard and have instant visibility into the fleet, Rappahannock Goodwill's goal is to automate reminders regarding preventative maintenance tasks, expired tags, and myriad details associated with managing their vehicles. "We are looking forward to using FleetCommander to help us get more organized and efficient with the way we do things. I anticipate saving between 10-15 hours of staff time per week through the use of FleetCommander," he says. Rappahannock Goodwill's fleet is currently located in multiple sites; however their goal is to have motor pool vehicles in one location.
Scheduling and managing pooled and assigned vehicles through the web-based FleetCommander software will be a great improvement over hand-written trip reservations and reports, according to Beynum. Collecting fuel transactions has also been a challenge for Rappahannock Goodwill, which going forward will be automated through FleetCommander's fuel management capabilities. Beynum says he will save fleet dollars by cutting back on mileage reimbursements for personal vehicle use, and may be able to add needed vehicles to the fleet once utilization data is collected through FleetCommander. "The reports show us everything we need to understand how much we spend per year for each vehicle. By cutting down on mileage reimbursements, we may be able to actually add vehicles to our pool, cut down on personal vehicle usage, and facilitate more sharing," he says.
"We are pleased to be able to support Goodwill Industries' Rappahannock fleet," says Agile's Vice President of Sales Matt Wade. "Once Rappahannock is implemented, our hope is to assist other Goodwill Industries across the country with their fleet automation needs," says Wade. "It is truly an organization worth supporting."
