Comdata announced it is processing live customer transactions via its cardless fueling technology, representing an industry breakthrough in cardless fueling. This first transaction occurred at the Love's Travel Stop in Pauls Valley, Okla.
The Comdata cardless solution automates the fueling process and data entry requirements with the use of a cost-effective RFID tag. This allows drivers to spend less time at the pump and greatly reduces the risk of fraudulent transactions by automatically shutting the fuel pump off when the truck pulls away. Comdata clients benefit from the same industry-leading controls and limits that come with a physical Comdata Card when using the cardless solution.
Love's is near completion of enabling all 292 locations to accept cardless transactions. In addition, Travel Centers of America (TA) is in the process of equipping all of their locations to accept cardless transactions.
"Comdata redefined the marketplace by introducing the first universally accepted fuel card for the transportation industry in 1981, and we continue to look for ways to bring innovation to the industry. Cardless technology is the way of the future in fuel transaction processing," said Steve Stevenson, president of Comdata. "Our vision is to provide an industry-wide solution that is deployed on an open platform; allowing all merchants, billing card companies and fleets to take advantage of a flexible platform. As a trusted, independent partner with over 40 years of experience and understanding of the transportation industry, Comdata continues to invest in and deliver pioneering solutions to make the fuel transactions easier, faster and more secure than ever before."
