Big rig and SUV collide, injuring two teenaged girls

A Kalama trucker was involved in a Saturday night collision in Molalla, Ore., that left two teenage girls injured.

A Kalama trucker was involved in a Saturday night collision in Molalla, Ore., that left two teenagers injured.

According to Oregon State Police, the accident occurred about 7:50 p.m. on Highway 213 at the Toliver Road intersection.

A 1995 Ford Explorer SUV driven by Sarah Musgrove, 18, of Molalla was attempting to turn left onto the highway when it was struck in the driver's side by the northbound tractor-trailer rig. She received serious injuries and was taken by Life Flight helicopter to a Portland hospital.

The truck driver was Andrew Rueckert, 29, of Kalama. He was not injured.

Musgrove's passenger, Lorene Dooley, 16, of Mulino, Ore., was reported to be less severely injured.

The investigation into the accident is continuing, according to police.

The highway was closed for two hours.
